Post subject: | Boot lid liner |
Hi all I am looking for a replacement boot lid liner for my mini. The current one is a cardbord/hardboard sort of thing (pretty sure it is original). Problem is I can't seem to find any similar material, just wondering if anybody had found something that was close. Cheers Stu |

I don't know why MDF is used so much in cars. As soon as it gets damp it turns to crap. 3 ply is much better and water resistance is very good. |

Good point chris........ i'm sure that there are many mini's out there that have ill fitting boot rubbers and leak from the top down the face of the liner...... Agree totally on the 3 ply thing ![]() |

I dislike MDF, every time i've used it i've ended up dodgily cutting myself..... and it's bad for your health. I'd go with the ply too rather than the compressed cardboard. |

I think he is after the original masonite like the Cooper S had. MDF is evil. It will be the asbestos of the future. ![]() |

It used to be graded but not any more. Anyone who uses MDF gets a short term solution only. Masonite is not much better, that's why it always falls apart. |
