http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=852&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=688&iSubCat=852 I was down at super cheap auto looking at the septone range for doing my floor. Was looking at the Brushcote vs Chasiss Black vs Flexcote, Each about $40 for 4ltr. http://www.septone.com.au/HTML/Product%20Catalogue/automo7.htm I'm thinking I need a special gun to spray the thick stuff ~$35. So that would do the outside. Inside I would use some kill rust paint. At least $60 for 1ltr of primer + 1ltr of enamel. Would probably do that under the black stuff on the outside too. Brushcote and Chassis black contain rust preventers. Brushcote is wax based, Chassis Blank bitchumin. Read somewhere that bitchumin based stuff shrinks over time. Looked up the price for POR-15. About $120 for 1ltr with prep stuff. But that could do the inside floor as well. Would a litre cover the floor inside and out? Then there is this stuff from the article. Claimed to be better than POR-15. I'm guessing it would have to come in from the states. Prolly $60 for a litre to get here. http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=1130&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=373&iSubCat=374&iProductID=1130 So I'm no closer to knowing what to do. |

I don't think 1 litre would do inside and out. I used about 2-1/2 litres of tar epoxy to do my 850's floor. That got me 1 coat inside and 2 outside. Tar epoxy cost me $40/L from www.biasboating.com.au I brushed it.... ![]() |

I was thinking 1 litre of POR-15 might do it. Wattyl claims 14 m sq. per ltr for Kill Rust. So POR-15 may be similar. Could not find any numbers in their data sheet. But yeat, tar would go on much thicker. There is also this stuff which seems to be sold locally: http://www.floodaustralia.net/products/penetrol_rust.htm http://www.floodaustralia.net/products/penetrol_cip.htm |

I may add I didn't only put one coat on but more like 3 on all. you can spray it on or use a brush it come out the same....surprisingly If you want pic's send me an emial or Pm...for progress pic's of the engine bay...I forgot to say I did that too |
