In mid 60s the heater option was the MiniMatic style underbonnet fresh air one I think, it bolts in above the clutch housing. Air came thru the firewall on drivers side and into a plenum that provided air down onto your feet, or up the RH demister slot only.
Look under the dash near pedal box and see it there's a metal flap attached there.
These heaters don't have a fan, but you can do what I did and fit a 3" bilge blower into the ducting, from www.biasboating.com.au

These heaters also add to the engine's cooling capacity- as they are an auxiliary radiator in circuit all the time.

On my dash i have two slots that point up to wards the windscreen, underneath the left hand one there is nothing but under the right on there is a box section under it and there is about a 2 inch hole that points towards your feet and there is a round plate about four inches round whith a small hole in it that points in towards the engine bay.

I'm not sure if there is meant to be another box section on the left hand side or what any internal ducting is meant to look like, i am trying to get all the bodywork as original as i can before i get a resray done, there are a lot of areas in question like a second hole cut in the floor but i'll worry about that one onother day i'm keen to work out what the heater set up is meant to look like if it is meant to have one.

Pics of dash's would be great guys.

That is the standard mid-60s setup for the freshair heater. No there was nothing on the LH side unless it was a Cooper, or had a UK heater

Here's a pic of mine-
You can still find them about, ask for a MiniMatic heater...

cool have you got a pic of the dash showing the vents/ducts. Do you have a duct on both sides?

Mine is just the same as yours...
Only blows up the RH side, but it doesn't fog up in winter.
The white thing in the air duct (see my previous pic) is the blower. $40 approx. Handy when stuck in traffic, otherwise I leave it switched off. 8)
