The dude who comes to clean our windows said he used to own a mini that he bought new in 1968. He basically told me what he did to it... I now know that ricing up a car is nothing new. He said he sent away to England for all the bling parts that he could buy such as the CooperS corner bars for the bumpers, mesh headlight protectors, fancy fibreglass dash and centre console, aftermarket tacho etc... He didn't touch the engine though.

Anyway, he told me about this book he still had, yesterday, and came by to drop it off today... It's awesome. It's got specs on everything with exploded drawings of stuff and factory modded minis like the "breadthalyser" and the Radford converted hatchback.

The chapters are:
"how the mini was born"
"how the test drivers saw them"
"money savers, emergencies and accessories"
"how you make a mightier mini"
"troubleshooting"
"what you should know about - engine, ignition, fuel system, cooling system, clutch, transmission, steering, brakes, suspension"
"proper maintenance and capacities".

A little taste... 8)

I haven't read it properly but at first glance it would seem that those boots were not factory but instead modified by Radford, a company that is the mini equivalent Corsa or HSV who make custom parts for Holdens.

I'll read it when I have some spare time and let you guys know what you're missing. :P

It's another one of those short lived conversions by another company.
Looks pretty good though.

Ringo needed a boot like that so he could put his drums in. :D

I remember reading that there was a modifier that then did this as you say molina

I've seen one of these one piece hatches (in fibreglass) it looked fairly crappy quality but a great idea.

Does anyone know if Radford got a metal unit fabbed up for Richard Starkey :?:

it is ringo stars car definately, the other one is just two minis with a centre thing made to look like its bigger, see how the women are sitting so that they dont collapse the middle bit, if you look closely over the right hand womans hand you can see the cheapo join mark, it was a 70's puplicity stunt...
