has anybody ever installed twin exhaust pipes,that is comeing out either side of the back end not together in the middle,abit like a twin V8 system,does anyone have pics :)

Not really people have said that when they put their tail pipes on they just cut the battery box so it wasn't as deep and they could then fit the tailpipes under it. Easy peasy

any 4 cylinder with full dual exhaust sounds crap in my humble opinion. I heard a guy do it on a Gemini years ago....OMG it sounded rank! :lol:

Looks are one thing, but a dual system is pure bling.
My sister had a Gemini wagon with dual side exit system
Looked great, sounded like a diesel hilux with a broken exhaust :roll:

Evil is getting duels from the back seat out. battery box is removed.

Yes you can buy setups from the UK. that will fit with no mods.

I do know MINI SPORT UK have em. but $$$$$

excellent, I was thinking about doing twin exhaust on the van, but wont bother now.. thanks guys ;)

Id still love to do the side pipes thing but that was only going to work with twin exhausts.. and its totally illegal anyway, apparently :(

Side pipes would be soooo cool 8)

"side exit" is legal - there are regulations on location & exit angle somewhere on the Dept of Planning & Infrastructure website, but I can't remember where :oops:

"side pipes" are what hot rods have, and it used to be compulsory in WA to have protective mesh or coverings over them so that people couldn't burn themselves.
My 14y.o. son burnt his leg pushing a Cobra down the Motorplex drag strip (broke down at the start line).
But he was still happy - complete stranger let him ride in his supercharged 427 big block Cobra :D I was envious :lol:

You can do a side exit exhaust in Qld as far as I know. The rule when I last checked was it had to be rearward of the last opening window, and it had to exit on the driver's side of the vehicle. Not sure what the situation would be with dual pipes considering they state it has to exit on the driver's side. They might force you to dump both pipes on the drivers side.

The only problem you have with that in a mini is clearance. There ain't a whole lotta room under that sill :lol:

What would be cool is if you boxed in a section (you couldnt have the rear seat in this setup) which extended from the existing exhaust tunnel to the side of the car. Then run the exhaust in this, making it exit in the panel just in front of the rear wheel. Would be cool if you wanted to run a beam axle in the rear or drop the battery & spare down a little to lower the centre of gravity a bit more 8)

pipe coming out the panel = sweet, but the paint would surely be wrecked wouldnt it? unless im thinking differently and thats probally a safe bet

I was thinking what if you cut a hole in the floor of your van and ran the exhaust up and out each side rear panel of the van but not just a single tale pipe but put dragster style pipes on it with about 3 tailpipes coming out the rear side window.

NOW THAT WOULD LOOK RICE AND NOT JUST RICE IT WOULD BE FRIED RICE

You should check as a van may be different, as people have to stand behind them and unload stolen goods etc. My Commer has a side exit in front of the rear wheel as standard. I can see black smoke come out while I'm waiting for the lights to change. <edit: just read the posts above and realise my advice is, as usual, redundant>

Incidentally, wicked exhausts for Minis are the preserve of Playmini in the UK. If I'm not very much mistaken, that's where the "bling" dual exhaust setup came from. They do all the mounting brackets etc etc.
