It's been a long time coming but I have just brought my first LS 1275, a nugget gold one ,with the original engine ( 12H902UH000727), 9/78 build date and XNFAD18Y/10451, ID PLATE , the car is in good condition, with a couple of tears in drivers seat trim and recent paint job(allthough a bit of an amateurish job, which I hope to improve myself over the next few months). the car came from Launceston , about 250 km away ,so we had a big day today, driving up ,test driving ,and driving home , the car went very well coming home ,flying over all the hills(it has twin carbs and extractors, allthough it did pull to the right when braking, which we'll look at tomorrow)it should be a great daily driver ,the car cost $3200, which I thought was a fair price ?, I'd love to hear anyones comments Tony :D

Good find man! $3200 is a steal for what you've got, if the only thing wrong with it is the tears in the front seats!

Post some pix up. 8)

If it's REALLY dirty... buy some cheap oil with SF rating... use that with a new oil filter for about 500km... then drain it and use the 25w50 Castrol Formula R with a new oil filter. Should clean it out a bit.

Don't think you'll have to worry about it though, so just go straight to the Castrol.

Hello Tony-Welcome to the BEST mini every produced by Leyland.I also have a LS1275.Nugget Gold as well-It has had a ground -up rebuild, and when re-painted in the Gold,I have left the LS stripes off, which I think looks really fantastic.Im not sure how to put pic's on here, but if you want to have a look a this LS,plus a Hi-HO Silver LS,go to our Club Website at www.sdminiclub.org.au and into Gallery-Members cars.
Enjoy.Regards.
Allan.
