I was ebaying, as you do, and come across this. Just wondering what the specs on the engine and that were? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VINTAGE-1965-MG- ... dZViewItem Same as the 1100S but with MG badges and other cosmetics? |

It should be an 1098 engine with 12G295 head and twin SU's. The later MG 1300 had the 1275 engine. Note the two dashpots of the twin carbs near that huge air cleaner. Very nice car, but whether they will get $7K for it, I'm not sure. AFAIK the 1100S was the only car badged "1100" with a 1275 engine. |

Thanks, Brett. I saw the single air cleaner and automatically thought single carb. Now ya've pointed it out, I see the twins there. Is the cam any different? Is it more of a 998 cooper engine? |

Not sure on internal specs, but I think it's basically 998 Cooper with 1100 block and crank, rods etc. |

Engine was 1098,no fuel pump hole, hi comp pistons, cooper cam. 12g295 head, twin SU's with single air cleaner, extractors. different bonnet,grille, dash and seats. wheels and hubcaps were different. Later tail lights changed. |
