Post subject: | 68 cooper S price |
I'm looking for some idea on what people would be prepared to pay for a car I have.It a 68 cooper S that actually has a deluxe body shell, the shell and paint was in excellent cond. untill it suffered damage to front guards and flares (a fixable dent and stuffed flare each side), the engine is stripped and requires a new set of pistons and rings and crank is standard and doesn't require a grind. I am going thru a divorce and the ex is making out it is worth lots Any input would be much appreciated. It was my first car and I have owned it 23 years so nuff said Bazz |

There are alot more people in here that are better qualified than me. I have a 68 Cooper S and the prices differ greatly. What I think you are saying is, you have a 68 Deluxe with Cooper S running gear that need's restoration. I'd say between $3000 - $4000, but if you put some pictures up, you could probably get a more accurate price. As you have owned the car for some time, I'd say it's worth more to you than true dollar value. ![]() |

![]() agree with the Figster...I would put a slightly higher top figure depending on condition of everything...3000-6000.(say) ![]() ![]() |

If your looking to sell, Ausmini is the best place to advertise. At least you know you'll get some enthusiast that will look after it and give you a fair price. But like Aaron said, location and pictures are the key. Splitting up really does suck, good luck with it. ![]() |

I reckon no more than parts value - a grand for the motor, a grand for the disks and 500 for the body and interior |

A long while ago I had the problem of a divorce.... I owned a truck She wanted cash She told her lawyer that my truck was worth $30,000 I said the truck was worth $6000 They said that I had to get a written valuation from a licenced valuer The valuer said the truck was worth $5000 ![]() OK you have a car that is in bits Your missus says it is worth a lot You say it is not worth much She may say it is a Cooper You can say it is a deluxe My view is that a car in bits and unregistered is worth about $150 per tonne as scrap. An incomplete mini will be about 500kg so it is worth $75. |

I had a Deluxe with all Cooper 'S' parts. The only thing that wasn't 'S' was the ID plate. Sorry most in Australia say it's Deluxe. Overseas they'd call it a reshell!!!! worth heaps more. |

Sorry you are having a divorce, crap happens...... ![]() It's not an S if it's a Deluxe with S bits. Not worth 'megabux' either, but it IS worth what someone will pay. My in laws just bought 2 GENUINE S's (in pieces) and 20 years worth of parts (including 3 sets of S discs and a complete 9F/S/aY motor in S subframe) for $2300. As advertised in The Trading Post!!!!!! Hope that helps. |
