I have rubber suspension, and some dodgy old shocks.

Have some 2nd hand shocks coming very very soon.. which is good

But id like to know if rubber suspension can deteriorate over time and drop the car closer the ground ?

It wont drop the car a massive amount, if at all. Those rubber cones are almost indestructable.

See how your suspension is once the shocks are replaced, then make a decision, you have nothing to lose.

There is a massive difference between old used rubber cones to new ones....I had old ones on mine and couldnt fit a finger between the wheel and gaurd, most the time i was on the bump stops.

Fitted near new rubber cones and the car now has a 4 finger gap on it  Even with hi-los on its lowest setting it is sitting to high (3 finger gap).

Grab yourself a set of old REAR rubber cones or a set of near new ones and you will not only see the difference but feel it to,, handles so much better.

Ok well it looks like I was wrong! The ones on the back of my van still looked good when I changed the shocks, so there ya go!

Maybe it's the front ones that donut?

So take the ones from the rear of a mini, and wack them up front ?

yes you can use the rear cones in the front, but make sure they have the thread going down the center to put the cone compressor on it. Some rear cones did not have this thread.
