There are still a few hillclimbs about that I know of..:
Dapto,
Newcastle (King Edward Pk) once a year. Need to be royalty to enter..
Raymond Terrace? Run by MGCC Newcastle, I think.
Buladelah Mtn (now THIS is a hill!) dunno who runs it..
Mt Panorama, Bathurst. UP the hill from Forest's Elbow. Run by Bathurst Light Car Club.
Wakefield Pk ( I think they run one)

I won't mention the `unofficial' ones... :P

Any more??

So was it raining when you ran the 1438??? A second slower than the Cooper!!

So you never found Silverdale??? Bells Line of Road???? for the amateurs!!!

NO it wasn't raining- the Fiat was just too bloody heavy (940Kg), damn twin cam had no torque under 4500, and the steering was crap compared to a Mini on Amaroo hill, which was pretty tight..

<edit> I fell in love with the Fiat- nice car, but I found it wasn't as quick as my old Mini was.
At Lithgow I did 3 runs, all 40.1- my mate's stock 1275S did a 39.9...

I did beat him around Amaroo dirt circuit, won the class.. 8)

I've been out to Collingrove, but I didn't drive. Its a very nice track and everything is well organised.

There was a run this past Saturday which unfortunately I couldn't make it out to, but I'm hoping to get out to the next one for at least a look. You need a Cams 2S licence, fire extinguisher, bonnet tiedown and battery triangle to run I believe.

Redfive's right about what you need, I've been there and took my "Before Mini" car out there. God Damn tight for a big car but straight up. Going with DrMini's format.

Collingrove 2003 2000cc WRX 39.13

The fastest in the WRX club is a 35.12 in an old 98 WRX R-Spec Tyres. The more powerful WRX's where slower, handling is more important (after a certain amount to get up the hill. :) )

Over in WA we have:

1340m Meelup hillclimb - my best time is the womens record set in the Nissan 200SX of 52.07secs set 28/09/2003
The fastest Mini for the same hillclimb is a Morris Cooper S in 53.71 set 21/05/2000

850m Mt Clarence, Albany. I only got one timed run at that before the event/road closure permits expired. No-one was impressed with the organisers as our group was the only group that didnt get 4 runs :( 39.? secs from memory.
The fastest Mini - Morris Cooper S set 36.42secs on 2/06/2001

790m Wellington Dam hillclimb - my best time another womens record of 39.65 secs set 27/04/2003. I also took out a class win 2-4L road registered class :) the boys werent impressed eh :? but I had a great time :)
The fastest Mini was a Morris Cooper S in 42.53 secs set 5/11/2000

850m Mt Brown Ive never done but the fastest Mini - Morris Mini 34.71secs set 18/10/2003

Thats the official hillclimbs in WA

When I get my Mini finished/hillclimbing I doubt it will get anywhere near these guys, but looking forward to it anyway :)
