Basic version....

Dry 61-64
Hydro 65-73
Dry 74-78

Hydro has a better ride
Dry is lighter
Dry is simple
They both handle good

Hydro won Bathurst!

advantages to hydro:
You don't need shocks on hydro.
changing hydro ride height is easy :D
hydro and it is easy to get better handling / firm it up

Disadvantages:
displacers may not be around for so long anymore
any displacer you get is 30 odd years old :(
Where do I find a hydro pump? (make one)

You don't need shocks on hydro, but if you put some on the front it handles better. probably because the damping in our 35 year old displaces is getting a little suss.
While you're at it, put comp hydro bumpstops on the rear, it'll turn in better and pitch less.
