First of all What you have is a Remote Change. If the linkage from the gearstick to the box is a solid arm then that's a Remote Change. A rod change will have 2 individual rods from the gear change mechanism to the gearbox, unsealed.
When you have the gear change unit out of the car and sitting on the ground. Looking from the gearstick towards the diff end of the arm, having it sit flat on the bench, the 2 prong diff housing selector fork needs to be 10 degrees clockwise from the 12 Oclock (pointing straight up) position (so slight 10 degree angle). Either that or it's 10 degrees anti-clockwise
