Couldnt figure out why my RHF wheel would keep coming wobbly even after I took apat the flange..bearings..drum etc etc..and then repacked it all with grease and put it all back together and then tightened it all up.

After about 50k's of driving it would be back to how it was.

What I didnt realise was the groove in the Drive Flange wasnt supposed to be there...Stupid Me...It has gotten a lot worse over time.....the two long trips i made in my holidays didnt help.

So now my RHF drive flange is runnish bin material, until i get a replacement i just have to drive carefully and not brake too hard or te steering wheel wants to go insane on me.

Lease I dont have to redo the bearings...drive flange is a 10 -15 minute job at the most.

Bloody Drive Flanges!!!

Hey you came out of it pretty good. I had bad wheel wobble over 50km/h in my car before, decided that it needed new CVs etc etc and threw it all in... $500 later in parts and I realised that the wheel was buckled.

:(

So $800 for new wheels later and he looks pretty tops and has no wobble.

Good thing it's got drums, not 997 Cooper discs (similar drive flange setup)- can't buy those new & S/H are scarce, only can braze the grooves up and remachine them. 8)
