So Im looking to buy an alarm of some sort for my car after whats been happening. I dont want some really expensive one or anything, just something to put people off messing with it.
What are your suggestions? What do other people have?

I'm going to put a semi decent one in the Rover, my wife drives it now and starts a job at Marion and Unley shopping Centres.
Beanies Rover got pushed by lowlifes into another car, just after we had the same panel repaired

Luckily I live in an area where most don't even bother locking their car or even winding their windows up I'm still waiting for one like the one in Robocop, fry the buggers

If you want to watch the budget, try Jaycar or somewhere were you can order the bits separately and therefore customise the alarm. Again I recommend that you get a high pitch piezo alarm as part of the package, if it doesn't drive the scum crazy it will continue to ring in their ears for days after the event.

Looks impressive.. But I think a normal immobiliser and alarm would do me fine.. with a 3 point immobiliser you've gotta either be a professional or have all the time in the world.

I am not too sure how it will work with a Lucas starter but...... It looks like you can still hotwire the car anyway!

In a Mini I would be looking at cutting off the fuel because the ignition system is too easy to bypass.
Stick a fuel switch under the rear subframe and a hidden switch somewhere else and they will not drive far.
