Had to drive to sydney yesterday in the wet and before I had even got to the expressway the mini died on me, and now wont start. Battery is fine and I'm getting fuel to the carbs. It started once and idled in the afternoon, but as soon as I put my foot down while in gear it just struggled and konked out not to be started since. Any ideas on where to start?

I was thinking the distributor may have got wet, take of the cap and let it dry out or use WD-40 on it, and probably clean up points, rotor, and contacts etc while your at it.

Yeah, the distributer has a nasty way of shorting in the rain, make sure you dry it out completely and try again.

If it turns out to be the case, you can get some nifty water covers for the distributor that'll keep it dry and keep you driving.

I have heard of them being made from a rubber glove cut the tips off the fingers and stick the leads through I have seen the 'proper' ones for sale on ebay a couple of times. Ask Karcraft if they have any

Yep I have used the Rubber glove trick...works a treat and looks funny Also
Or you could also use an old Icecream container..but not as fun and hard to keep it thier

I'm sure thier is a proper one on Ebay at the moment

Check your spark plugs.

I had the same issue on weekend.

Idled fine, could rev the crap out of it, but as soon as i put it in 1st and went to drive it would stall.

My plugs were BLACK and pitted, cost me $14 for new ones and then i leaned up the mixture.

Starting to lose patience with it now. Had a fan on blasting air onto the dizzy for the last 3hours. Tried a couple of capfulls of go-juice in the carbs and still nothing. Could the dizzy fail this quickly? If so, does anyone have a dizzy to sell?
