No, but have have thought of doing it.
Also would like to attempt quad point fuel injection,
but I'm not in a hurry to get started.
Good luck, I'll be interested to see it finished if you can get it to work.

This is what you need.

The EDIS module should be ablt to find in small 4cy cars ie. ford

EDIS module
Coil pack
Crank Trigger Wheel
Crank Position Sensor
Air Intake Temp Sensor
Coolant Temp Sensor

Forget it unless you start with an 8 port head. If ya take a look at the Mini Mods forum, theres a discussion about EFI and how a 5 port doesn't take it.

Basically, on one port, as one valve closes, the other is opening. Means one cylinder will run rich, and the other lean. Only way to fix is an 8 port.

How do the late model Rover MPI engines do it?

Not as well as carbs! They are more efficiant tho!

Edit/ they have 2 injectors, too.

I do not think it hard to get the injector to fire for the opening of both valves.... If you can get it to fire once, you can get it to fire twice.

That's not the issue. The issue is still one cylinder sucking in more than the other. Same port, so is still going to share what ever is in there!

Rover mini injection comes in 2 forms.

Single point injection ( SPi )..... and Multi Point Injection ( MPi ).

SPi came on most of the earliest injection minis with MPi only coming on luxury models... then by 1996/97 the MPi was standard fitment.

SPI has just 1 injector that supllies fuel to all 4 cylinders. MPi has 2 injectors.

The single injector in an SPi setup sits directly under the big air filter inside that thing that looks like a carby (the throttle body). It basically does the exact same thing that an SU needle does - spray fuel directly into the manifold (not into the ports like a normal EFI car does).

The SPi and MPi setups can be improved slightly, but most Jap and Pommie owners looking for more power actaully throw the injection system out and fit twin SU's or a weber.

I myself have put my name down on a WOLF3D fuel and ignition setup already Cody.... so nyer :P !!!!

Nobody in UK has yet got more than a true 90HP at crank, from an MPI with stock CPU.
There's a good thread on this at www.minimania.com

See http://www.minimania.com/web/threadid/6 ... thread.cfm
Note thread is upside down unless you log in...
