Just had this email at work.. copy and send it far and wide.. IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" |

BUT IT WONT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. you may not buy petrol on the 22nd, but you will on the 21st to make sure you dont run out on the 22nd. Therefore, the amount of petrol bought in one week WILL NOT CHANGE. a child could understand this. Duh

I dont understand shares. But it wont lower fuel prices. Thats for sure. |

They will sell just as much fuel during the week. This thing comes up every time fuel gets a bit pricey. It's just been done to death on MM site too. Makes absolutely no **** difference to the oil companies.

third time this year I've gotten this email. Golden Rule: delete all chain letters & forget about them. not worth the electrons that transmitted them. 
I've spent a lot of time in the "tank farm" at BP Refinery, Kwinana. So called because it's acres of land filled with tanks, each holding 20 to 200 million litres of fuel. One day will not trouble them in the slightest. One continuous week - yes. |

No adeee. I f i wanted to put fuel on the fire.. i would be posting topics that may or may not afect minis,... I still got lots of fuel RE: the last few days.. but I am not going to start WW3 for the sake of this great place we call home.
How about this then... YOU ALL GET OF YOUR FAT ASS AND RIDE A BIDE FOR A WEEK OR USE OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORT.. |

I buy from the small private guy and don't support the big three. They forgot to mention "Esso", as the third big one. It is rumoured that we are going to hit close to a $1.42 a Litre by the winter. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Someone offered this good idea:This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the don't buy gas on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, this is a plan that can really work. Please read it and join. We all know that we're being controlled by the oil companies. Does everyone remember how they drove up the prices and got the gas prices to where they wanted them, claiming there was a shortage of oil. Well, there isn't any shortage now, and the oil is more abundant than it was 35 years ago when the price of a gallon of gas was 29 cents!!! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre of gas is CHEAP at $0.78-$0.85, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars we cant just stop buying gas.. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: PAY ATTENTION HERE is the answer for the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), PETRO CANADA,SHELL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of PETRO CANADA and SHELL buyers. Its really simple to do! ! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and Ill explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to at least thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) . and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one levelfurther, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! Ill bet you I didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $0.64 OR LESS RANGEAND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK!!!!!!! |
