Whats it look like?

Has it got 2 or 4 mounting holes? Has it got a fuel bowl?

It should be an HIF44 off a Metro 1275. (I think)

And the HIF44s are crap. Send it to me and I'll exchange it for an SU 2 and an electric supercharger - that'll blow your hair back!

Ok i had a look 4 mounting holes where it joins the manifold and 2 holes to hold the filter on.
No fuel bowl
loks exactly like this

so im thinking it could be the HIF44 as my engine is a metro engine, which is good news because thats the sort i need for the supercharger kit!! One less thing to buy yay

thats an odd one both the hif6 and hif44 have the choke on that side and that has none?? it has no leanout pipe and there are pipes coming from that side which is weird too

I thought the HIF44's had the linkage on the left (looking when mounted on motor)

that one would be on the right...

It looks just like the HIF44 off a Metro.

The bit of throttle that we can see in the photo is the return spring and the idle screw. The linkage is on the other side.

Ok, That pic that i posted before was from 92. It is a pic that he sent me saying that this is the carby i will need for his supercharger kit. He said that its a HIF44 off late model A+ engines

The following pics are of my actual carby
1st one, looking from grill into the engine bay, this is the RIGHT or passenger side

Image

2nd, top view

Image

3. LEFT or drivers side

So there you have it, is there anyway to tell what size/model it is just from these pics?? And what is the difference between a HIF44 and a HIF6??

thanks again

8)

Go to www.burlen.co.uk/store.aspx and search there. FZX1409E is from a 1982 Metro.
They have rehashed their site so it's different to their previous site and now includes Zenith and Stromberg CD carb info.
