Well as a result from the Dyno day, and shocked result especially after the last attempt of 25.7Hp i now got 25HP hmm, something strange happening here.

At least the power is still consistent, I am very doubtful that the 1100 as advertised when bought is most likely not a 1100 motor. hmm good one.

Just wondering if any one will be able to help me out just a rough costing for a new motor which is a 1100 and not the imitation that i have.

Thanks

Might be worth just throwing a stroker crank in there and doing a bit of work while your at it, rather than buy a 1100..

You can measure the stroke, with the pistons at TDC #1 plug out and a bit of wire to see what you have.

From what i have been told by the seller and by a couple of overs that it is an 1100 which obviously doesn't show it,

the engine number starts with a 9 i know that part, but who knows now.

hmm how do you check the stroker?? hmm never done this one before.

starts with 9 = 998 block. If it has an 1100 crank and pistons it is an 1100, otherwise you got a 998 there boy.... :D

If the engine no starts with the prefix 99H it is a 998 motor. An 1100 motor should start with prefix 10Y

Chalk another one up. I found out one of my colleague's daughter has a mini, 1st thing she asks me is do I know any good mini mechanic (they live on the Nthn Beaches).

To cut a long disaster story short, this mini went into the anonymous mini specialist workshop as it was stalling when cold. My colleague picked up her daughters car and paid her $, and the car konked out on her at the first major intersection (Pittwater Rd). It now stalls only when warmed up.
