Hey all,

I'm looking for ANY pics of original (not re-trimmed) clubman S interiors with the cloth/vinyl combo. Doesn't matter what colour combination as long as it's the cloth/vinyl. The cloth is the famous "dot pattern" that they used on all of the 77-78 models.

I ESPECIALLY need to see a photo of the rear seat if possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
BC

Thanks dude.

It's becoming obvious to me that there is a few variations of the cloth/vinyl trim. eg. my mini's front seats had the cloth fabric accross the "leg part" of the seat where yours has vinyl. The vinyl is probably a better option for durability tho. My old sunshine also had the cloth on the leg part but I noticed looking at czerials BEAUTIFUL new trim that he also has the vinyl accross the seat.

Any other pics are appreciated. I'm building a bit of a collection.

:)

They`re not """"""Clubmans""""" They`re """"LEYLAND minis"""""

The """Clubman""" was a particular model 1100cc, hydro suspension & 1&1/4 carb etc & were not produced after 1973,,,after then they were all either std Leyland minis ,or leyland mini "S"s (including the sunshine) , SS`s or LSs with dry suspension & 998cc with 1&1/2 carb or 1275cc for the 1275LS

sorry,,,i`m a picky bugga about that topic,,,imagine trying to by parts for a 1978 model clubman,,,"sorry mate, no such car ever made in Australia"

:-) I`m Mr picky picky now hey? :-)

You have seen mine already mate..to clear up a feew things,

The frint seats for Elmo SHOULD have the cloth under the legs. Late
clubbies had the cloth going all the way to the end as opposed to eraly
clubbies that had the Vinyl going across the front aka Elmo's. and to match this
the rear seats on late clubbies had the cloth goig the whole way over like this

Image

as opposed to the rear seats in Aussie's and JAMs car where on the rear seat the
cloth does not go over the hump.

Why did i do elmo like that?? cos im a fool. He will be getting the correct
thing done when i have some $$$

Thanks for clearing that up for me Chris. I always enjoy looking at those beautiful photos.

Bummer about making that mistake on the front seats!! At least you got the back one right hey? I know you WILL fix this to "as it should be" but I can't help but think that it's actually more durable the way you have it!! That is the most common wear spot for these seats and especailly so with that thin fabric they used on the late minis. But it looks better the other way IMO and no doubt when I have mine done I'll get it done with the fabric all the way. And STRAIGHT stitching along the sides - NOT angled towards the corners.

Can't wait to get my interior looking like that again!!!!

There were definately "MIXERS" in the 73/74 period,,,you could have found an 1100 with rod change on dry,,,or a 998 with extension housing shifter on wet,,,dam,,,just about any combination really,,,they just seemed to throw whatever they had left into the dam things, :-)

but 72 was definately "CLUBMAN" with 1100 ,extension housing shifter, 1&1/4" Su on wet

Late 74 was the real start of the "Leyland mini" era with 998, rod change shifter, 1&1/2" SU & dry suspension.

typical leyland factory tho,,,appolstery was just thrown in there & is really hard to get good "Genuine Original" appolstery set examples now days

dam good re-appolstery job there Czerial,,,where di you get the material???

thanks mate, some of my resoning was actually for durability when i got the
seats re done, but now i just wish i had of done it the other way cos it looks better,
but i dont know if i want tto run the risk of it getting trorn....

Mini man, thans for the comments, getting the material is my biggest success find
for the car, i searched high and low, i ended up finding about 4 meters of the gold
dot pattern cloth hidden away at a place called Daleys (in sydney) they bought it
off the factory when Leyland closed down. I wasSTOKED to get it, along with the
tan Vinyl that Mini clinic had hidden away. I think it has added a fair bit to the final
result of the car and cant WAIT to put it in!!

Hey Chris, mini clinic sent me some samples of the vinyl and fabric they have and THEY MATCH!!!! I'm RAPT!!!! I'm going to order the stuff today and probably fly up to Sydney with the wife to pick it up.

I'll send you a PM - need you to do me a small favour if possible.

Cheers,
BC
