Sitting at work the other night and was reading about the Pommy guys and their 'evil' little scooters, causing all sorts of mayhem and generally having a great time.

Two of the things that really grabbed me was injecting notrous oxide in with the touch of a button and screaming up to way past 100mph in a few seconds  Not bad for a 125cc engine!!

The other was being able to cover the rego plate with some stuff so that Mr. Plod couldn't catch them with cameras - the article also gave the URL

A mate of mine front school used to have I think it was an F100 ute. The rego plate was on a hinge and operated pneumatically. I thought that was quite funny!

the idea is that you place something over the number plate to make it highly reflective, some clear plastic or hairspray or mr sheen or whatever, then when the camera flashes the number plate gets over-exposed and your plates are unreadable. Sounds alright in theory, but in practice most of the stuff that is sold to do this is rubbish, its also illegal to tamper with your plates, and i'm not sure i'd trust it myself too much. Mud would work just as well really o_0

edit: i've also seen a folding hinge system for the mx5, where once you get moving at above 60k's or so the force of the wind pushes the plates down.

OR you get a camera flash, mount it next to the number plate. Then go buy a flash 'slave'.
This makes your flash go off at the exact time as theirs. In effect, it over-exposes the area of your number-plate, burning the whole plate area white in the photo.

But, just like everything that cheats the government, the cops caught onto this about 15 years ago when flash slaves first became available.

i like the idea of reflective coating or this flash slave, i don't want to be preyed upon by the greedy government.
