Hey guys, i've noticed on alot of runs that some guys seem to worry alot about the temp. Mine sits on 70 most of the time and only ever goes up if in very slow traffic.

What do your minis run at?

Ha-Ha runs 1/4 up on gauge when moving, 1/2 sitting still on a hot day. Deluxe rad & MiniMatic underbonnet heater. No worries mate..

<edit> Barney's runs at 1/2 on gauge when moving well, creeps up well past 3/4 when in traffic. He has a new MiniSpares 2 core (no heater)- I reckon they are no better than a good stock Deluxe or S one.
 Must fit MiniMatic heater before Can-Bra run... 8)

Usually, on a clubby dash, its sits on the bootom of the 'N'. I figure this to be about 160*, as this is what my thermostat is, but when it gets to what i would call 'hot', it is realistically 3/4 on its way to 'H for Head gasket'. I presume this is about 190-200. Not danger stuff, but not what you need. :(

I've got an Auto Meter Capillary gauge to put in it, but that's just on the list of things to do.

Make sure you put a thermostat blanking thingy in if you take the thermostat out  otherwise the water doesn't circulate the block properly, it goes from the water pump straight back out to the radiator and doesn't cool the block   :?

My mini runs at about 80c whilst driving and if I get stuck in traffic it will go up to about 100c but it seems ok.

Your clubby only has C - N - H ...i'm not sure of the exact range that it is, and what the N represents as far as temperature. Anything around the 'N' is Normal..Ideally just below the N is great... but you shouldnt have too many problems as long as it's in the normal range, wait until summer

I've never seen mine go above about 95-100*F. I've never checked the accuracy of my guage either - I think I should...
