Hey guys,

I have recently purchased a morris mini window van rolling shell (virtually complete minus seats, engine and gearbox). I am yet to pick it up but will be in just under 2 weeks, and it is reportedly rust free and very straight.

I am considering swapping it for a standard mini rolling shell (roundy only please) in an equivalent condition (preferably located in or near Melbourne, as I'm going to adelaide for the van shell).

Would anyone be interested in doing a swap? I'm just keen to see if there's any interest at this stage. I'm planning a daihatsu 3cyl engine conversion and am debating whether a van or standard sedan would be better for me.

Cheers,

Steve

I have a rolling shell in ballarat - primed and mostly stripped, the shell is near perfect. What sort of condition is the van in?

I'm yet to pick the shell up, but it apparently has only surface rust (dont they all!)

When I pick the beast up, I'll give it a complete once over and then give more information.

Re: your rolling shell, have there been any rust repairs that you're aware of? If so, please elaborate.

dunno, actually belongs to my dad who bought it as an unfinished project, he's got another brick now so a van may fit in nicely, depends how good yours is

when i pick mine up I'll give it a thorough going-over...I'm assuming the description is accurate, and if so it's very good. I really only want to swap if the other shell is equivalent or close to, but I'll wait until I pick it up before making that assessment.

Cheers,

Steve
