Post subject:  Big Hello from the UK and Cooper Sport 500 Register

Hi all

Thought i would introduce myself and say hello, im Stewart from the sunny UK, i currently own the Cooper Sport 500 you see in my sig, a very loved and cherished example which is garaged and only used in the dry during the summer 8)

My good friend Scott introduced me to this site, he setup the cooper sport 500 register here in the UK last year but has since moved back to Aus (with his 500) and is a member here.

Anyway, i will have a browse around and come back regularly. Hope your all a friendly bunch (some forums in the UK can get a bit picky and un friendly)

All the best

Stew

Hi Stewart, welcome 8)

Very nice example you have there, stick around, you must only get to drive that thing like..1day a year? that's about all the sun you get in summer isn't it :lol: ;)

We're a friendly lot for the most part, there's the odd bitch fight :lol:. ..always sorts itself out though ;) Must be a mini thing...

thank you for the welcome people :) i'll be staying out of the fights then.

but alas, yes the weather isnt as good as you get, sigh.... no where near, but since our move from the south west to the south east the amount of dry days has improved greatly. Managed to do about 2500 miles this year. A grand total of 6700 miles on him now.

oh and he's named 'Bungle' because hes like a bear he hibernates in winter, and over in the UK we used to have a kids show which had a big bear in it called bungle.

Is it the number of cars that overtake you every time you go for a drive? :lol:

Stew speak for yourself there is 8 mpi's here in aus 5 of thoses are Cooper'ed and 3 are stock mpi's. Out of the 5 Cooper's its 3 S Works all 90bhp, 1 Sports 5 85php, and 1 John Cooper LE 90bhp, the others are all non Cooper'ed but played with ie bolt on go fast bits, bringing them upto 65ish (lol) The scary bit of all this is that I own three of the bloody 8,

And Stew I know your car and its no slow bunny neither, its got the pipercross and a few other tweaks

sssstew;
Welcome aboard!
In Oz, the Rover minis have to use a black plastic fuel cap (see pic) in order to comply with the design rules surrounding the unleaded fuel. I was wondering whether it is the same in the UK, and where you got your Aston filler cap?
