is it because it's different?

i'd say the biggest reason is the cheapness of parts, fuel and hot up bits
so economy for me at first but then i saw the performance

I guess I was first attracted to them because they were a practical classic which is what i wanted, and pulling a 'lux apart last year taught me lots about cars which was good and the general simplicity is attractive too. As I got into them more i really appreciated how good the basic design was and how right it is in so many aspects - surprisingly roomy, sprightly performance and a marvel of packaging. For it's time being so groundbreaking and leading a revolution in the sales and design of small cars makes it very important too.

The other part was I suppose a bit of curiosity - my dad had one bought new, other people i knew had owned one at various points and all talked fondly of the Mini - I just had to have a go!!

So lots of reasons really. There are of course days when you have absolutely no idea why you are driving around in the smallest car this side of an Isetta with 4 wheel drummies and zilch safety features, but then you go around a corner or you get an admiring glance and it teaches you again why you like it :)

I bought a mini because of the luggage space :) ... and to tow heavy loads of cash so I can pay for impovements.

My first car was a 74 mini van in 1985, they are heaps of fun ,and my kids love them, I needed a small car to travel on my 70 km return trip to work each day, friends said get a corolla(how boring),now I'm onto my second mini in 3 years a 1275 LS and loving it , Tony :D
