Post subject: | What tires?? |
I just bought a set of 12"x5" wheels for my LS and as the tires are not in the best of condition I am going to put on new ones. The tires size that are on the wheels are 145/70R12 How about a set of Yokohama A539 165/60R12?? Any other recommendations?? |

what ever you do....DON'T PUT 145's BACK ON THOSE RIMS!!!!! I copped it all day yesterday about my 145 cheese cutters ![]() I have Falkens, which everyone bags repeatedly, but they work for me. |

I had Falken 165/60/R12 's on my 12 inch rims - I didn't think they were too bad actually. But If you can get yoko's for not much different then I'd try them. |

IMO..The a539's are a great tyre, but I have been told they are a softer compound than the A008's therefore will wear a lot quicker. I've had both Faulkens and Yokies and do find the yokies stick better ![]() |

Just ordered 4 Yokohama A539 165/60R12 and should have them on the wheels later this week. $125.00 each. Scotty, even if they are a soft compound they should last a long time on my LS as it wont be doing that many klms per year or any high speed driving. |

Fair enough. I guess I'm speaking from a 'daily driver' point of view. ![]() |

From experience in the wet(which you have a lot of) the yoko's are the way to go.To much wheelspin with falken and don't last.... |

Hooroo Rob Forsyth Miniot!! A008 are still being made. Ring Yokohama if you have to. Or Yokohama Motorsport. I'll buy another (spare) set soon too. ![]() A008 are the only tyre that gives me traction, wet or dry. Falkens with 115HP or so are useless.... ![]() Yes I know A032R are better, but out of my price range and they wear too fast. <edit> here's a thread on this topic- http://www.minimania.com/web/threadid/7 ... thread.cfm see the response there from Yokohama. |
