i brought myself a clubby sedan completely original never been hit in any way shape or form but has had a really half hearted paintjob and now looks like a cow (white car black roof and various patches of black). i am currently in the process of getting it ready to paint so that it can get back on the road and look good. the grandfather is cutting out rust and fixing holes so that paerts ok my uncle has agreed (with much bribery in the form of boiurbon) to let me use his painting equip and garage. now just need to know what else to buy.
i have already ordered:
50 sheets of various grade wet and dry
20 litres of thinners
4 litres of acrylic
4 litre of clear coat
putty primer
seam sealer
etch primer
thing of bog
20 litres of prepsol (it worked out cheaper to buy 20 litres in a refill tin then 10 litres in a new tin)
if anyone can think of anything else i may have overlooked please let me know because i want this car to look great for a long time.

another question and im sure this has been asked before but anyway what would be tha best/ easiest way to strip the car to bear metal without sending it out to get soda/sand/media blasted

you can use paint stripper under glad wrap, a few people on here have dont it and they have all said it comes up a treat. do a search for gladwrap or glad wrap and see how ya go.

or, you could simply touch the paint up, a cow colour scheme would be awesome

tack cloth's, used to remove any dust prior to paint, without leaving residue.
masking tape and paper/plastic sheets if your going two tone.

Get some good mixing cups for your paint - any good auto paint place will have them. They have mixing ratio marks etc on the sides and are cheap.

Makes life allot easier!

I was going to make a seperate thread, but you may know or will ask:

What do you use to buff new paint? I've got buffing compound, but need the hardware. Supercrap buffer wasn't worth the box it came in. I also had a cheapo that attached to a drill - was working good, but started letting the smoke out of the drill ...

Is there pads etc to fit 4inch or 9inch grinders? or go and hire a pro buffer?

A heater as it is freaken cold at the moment.
