I am looking for an 1100 engine for the van. A few people have contacted me on the forums but they don't reply after I make them an offer.

If the engine is out of the car and said to be running what should I be offering?

depends really mine came out of a running car and paid 200 bucks for it, although previously to that i paid 400 for one, so it varies, probably wouldnt go much over 450 though

I think that for $400 I would want to hear the engine running in the car. Any suggestions on someone that might have one for around the $300 mark.

Get a compression test done. Then if they are all good and all about the same, then it's probably worth something. 8)

Andy...they were probably reverse tyre kickers...

ohhhh!! ohhhh! I have an 1100...I wonder what he would pay for it :!: :?:

Pay as little as possible (100-200)...it could be a nice heavy doorstop  ....you may be up for 100s in overhaul costs....

BUT if you can see receipts for work done and you know the person very well and trust them implicitly....then consider buying something a little more expensive (300-1000)

Thanks for the advice Poeee and Mick!
Makka If you do want to sell let me know. If anyone comes up with something let me know. I am willing to pay good money for the "right" engine.
Cheers
Andy.
