You will need to check everything very carefully....If it not all there, then it will be worth much less than you think. Whats the gearbox like?
Is the motor even running? Has it been rebuilt at all? Has it been 'warmed' over?
Also you need to consider what kind of resto you are contiplating.

I find the best way to value a car is to break it into parts (Not literally

). Add up what you have got.....divided by 2 and offer him that amount of money.
That way, worst case is you wreck it and get your money back
Up here in QLD at the moment is a very nice Mk2, as original except the colour. Rebuilt everything. $10000 would buy it.......Roadworthy, rego, ready to go
But to be a show winner you might have to spend upwards of another $10000 on it:!:
