Gives a better ride, but you may start to feel sea-sick 
Go the Dry cone type for all out handling. Don't see many Group Nb racers with hydro.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching.. Can someone give me a general outline of which mini's came with which type of suspension (rubber cone, hydro)? Thanks |

In Aus the Deluxe, Cooper S, K and Early Clubman came with hydro. The 850, Cooper, Vans, Moke, Leyland Minis came with rubber. |

AFAIK Rubber cone: 850s, clubmans (most of except for some around 73?) mokes, all commercials (utes and vans), later types rover minis etc. Hydro: cooper S, deluxe, K, elfs, other luxury models.. Not sure about: 997 cooper, 1071 cooper, did some 850s have hydro ? |

pre 64 cars had rubber cones, then after that it was hydro till 70 something, then it was rubber cones again, why do u need to know this, dont believe people when they say hydro is bad, its not. |

i kinda miss my old hydro.. it would pitch under acceleration 
but it was comfy as! they won the monte carlo rally on hydro.. its a much better system, but more expensive to manufacture etc so they dropped it. |

Nb is for pre 65 cars and hydro was not available in Australia till 65 so they can't run it even if they want to. |

Group N - Touring Cars This group caters for production touring and touring cars built before 31st December 1972. The group is divided into three time periods defined as Na, Nb and Nc. Group Na is for production touring cars as recognised by CAMS and commercially available in Australia prior to 31st December 1957, with the inclusion of certain run-on models. The vehicles must be of a touring form providing adequate normal seating for four or more adult persons. Group Nb is for series production type touring cars manufactured prior to 31st December 1964 of which 100 of the particular model must have been produced. The regulations for Group Nb are a re-introduction of what were known as ?Appendix J? regulations which were current until the end of 1964, with only minor modifications to cater for contemporary requirements and practices. Group Nc is for touring cars of a make and model which competed in Australia between 1st January 1965 and 31st December 1972 in either the Australian Touring Car Championship or in races specifically for the 3rd Category Group C Improved Touring Cars. Once again, the visual aspects of cars in this group must, above all, be compatible with the period. |

Where did you find that rubbish!
Appendix J minis could run over 1300cc and Norm Beechys EH Holden was over 3000cc but they can't do that under Nb. CAMS = idiots. |
