What are the most cost effective roller tip 1.5 rockers? Mini Spares, Swiftune, or the Aussie made ones I've seen mentioned on occasions (available from?). Do Yella Terra do an A Series set? Any advantage in going 1.7 on a 1380 or above engine? Slide |

I think the 1.7 rockers are only recomended for full on race engines, There may also be problems with coil bond and clearance to the pistons, There was a topic on roller rockers somewhere it was a while ago, but some were good other dodgy and failed qucikly ![]() firstly it's cheaper (400-500 it too much for a set of rockers IMO), The corolla rockers don't have quite the same lift so they can be used without valve cutouts in your pistons AFAIK, The greater the lift the greater the valve train wear (cam, cam followers, push rods, valves, valve guides, rockers, rocker shaft). I only want to have fun with my mini not go bankrupt because of it. ![]() roller tips if they are good can help but if I remember correctly the bad ones will stuff things up worse than if you used solid tip rockers ![]() Anything I've forgotten got wrong ![]() |

Nah that's pretty right. ![]() Forged 1.5 rockers are stronger than cheapo roller ones. Good rollers cost good $$$. Lots of guys race with Corolla ones. I measured their lift ratio on my 1st set made, with an RE-13 cam, it was 1.46:1. There's a thread about modding Corolla rockers here- http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... ht=rockers See here for KC's take on available rockers.. http://www.minimania.com/web/SCatagory/ ... ticleV.cfm ![]() |

If you are talking 1.5:1 hi-lift ones, most tuners (Vizard, & Graham Russell anyhow) say NO... for the street. 1.3:1 rollers are OK, but you can get just about this same ratio by using the early pressed steel stock 1275 ones. Which cost peanuts. 1.3 rollers are good for racing I guess, if you have the do$h. ![]() |
