hey fellas, i just took the head off my 1100 to go into the van to have a look at the bores,

ontop of the pistons it has 040.... imguessing that its taken out 40 thou???

on the bores i can still see the criss cross marks from the wire brush after it was bored................ this a good sign to a good condition bore??? there are no gouges in the bores either,

i have no clue to when it was bored out and no information on the motor itself,

any other ways to tell if itgs in good nick without striping the block down?

blake

Measure the bores if you have verniers,
or if you don't, look for a "lip" at the top of the bores. If the bores are badly worn there will be a discernable lip where the piston doesn't run quite to the top of the block.

Sounds like you have a good one but :D
