i have a mini engine out of a car and was wondering if anybody could help me find out what size it is????

it has 12A450 on the side right underneath a big 850 does that 850 mean 849cc ?????

I have always gone by this rule for identifying Mini engines. Looking at engine number stamped on the top of the block just behind the water pump.

Number starts with, 8...... = 850 (848)
" 9........= 997 or 998
" 10..... = 1098
" 12.......=1275.

pretty good advice there convertable mini..i recently found out that bobs motor was in fact an 1100..I had prevoiusly just taken it for granted that it was 998 as the previous owner said it was, and i never even thought to look LOL

Yep that was good advice i never even knew thos numbers were there, too much rust and dirt. I have an 848.
