Hi guys, reason I'm asking is that I'm interested in this imported Mini, but I don't want to buy it if it's dodgey. Can a dodgey Rover Mini get RWC, or does RWC mean the compliance / plates haven't been tampered ? Don't Licensed RWC places get in trouble if there's something wrong, you can't give an RWC to an uncomplianced car right ? I don't know, the price seemed quite cheap for an import, $7000. I believe you get what you pay for, and if it's too good to be true, it usually is. But then is 7k not cheap ? cheers |

Not sure if it's dodgey at all, my question was more along, if it comes with RWC, does that mean the compliancing / plates can't be bad ? Sort of like a guarantee. This of course, isn't referring to the quality of the physical condition. I've read so many topics of people putting plates from other cars to rego a different car and it's making me paranoid. ![]() |

First, don't assume it's dodgy by the price. I wouldn't give anyone more than $7000 for a 1 litre rover auto. It is easy to do, I've seen a couple of dodgy ones before. Have a look at the car. If it has it's factory plates and a compliance plate in the boot, and is still registered, then it should be legit. |

Cool, thanks for the info Harley. When I asked Coopers imports, they said 12k ! Not that I would ever pay that much, I was planning on bargaining the 7k guy down as I don't have that much, |

Theres a couple in a car yard down here, for the price you'd expect a lot more, $5 to $7 grand should get you an decent early mini for sure. There was an 80's model cooper for sale down here for 7 or 8. I just can't justify the cost of these, the paints not real good, 998 if you do the math it just does not seem to work. Coopers come up at that price ocassionaly. |

They didn't make coopers in the 80's, so they aren't worth what they claim. |
