Apart from Vizard's well known books there are 2 written by Des Hammill-

I've got both. Only buy the ONE that suits your engine- there is a lot of content common to both.
The 998 book also applies to the 1098. This book has info on block mods to fit a 1275 head to a 998/1098 to make it GO! :wink:

Should I get the 1275 version or the "How to Power Tune Minis on a Small Budget" or is the later just a short guide on stage 1 kits and cam changes?

I don't know what's in the `Power tune Minis on a small budget' book, but at $16.95 the others are both a bargain.
They have useful info on porting Weber manifolds and jetting Webers & Dellortos, and porting info on 1275 heads which you can actually understand.

Vizard's books are good, but short on detail in some areas- like engine building clearances, distributor advance curves, etc.

I have both Vizard's books, and the 2 of Hammill's- I'd say get Hammill's 1275 book, and Vizard's How to the the BL A series.. :wink:

I bought How to Power Tune your Mini on tight budget a few years ago. Not as extensive as Vizard (but then, who is?) but it is a very good book, giving a more basic approach to Mini tuning for those with no money (like me, I'm a uni student after all!)

It is in more depth than stage one kits etc, and I highly recommend it, for those with a tight budget at least...

I'm actually looking into purchasing Hammill's book on SU carbs at the moment.

Hammill's book `How to build & power tune Weber & Dellorto' is a good book, too, if you run a Weber or Dellorto.. 8)

Yea Kevin, you reckon I could meet you? (I'm a bartender so you can have as much beer as you like).

Or anyone whos friendly (or just not antisocial) I just wanna get more involved with the mini people in Sydney, talk about them(the minis not the people), and just general advice in terms of originality performance etc.

Drmini is the 1100 and the 1098 the same (I'm assuming it is) Just thought I'd check before buying any books.

Yep a 1098 is an `1100' was fitted to Morris 1100 too.

The Clive Trickey book I've got, good on nostalgia but it's a bit antique now.

Lindsay Porter's service guide is not bad, not really a workshop manual though.

The BEST workshop manual IMO is the Leyland Australia ` Black Book', $69 at www.pitstop.net.au

It's the only one I know of, with the full service section for the automatics. 8)

Yea and a mini golf field out the back....No unfortunately its one of those places with "lounge" after its name, candle lights, cocktails and subsequently a 50% premium on the price of everything which neither the service nor the clientelle can justify.

Good view though and I'm supposed to be a pretty decent cocktail mixologist.
