The elusive $30 mark!!!

so im at the petrol station and i filled up from empty (maybe there was 5L in there) and i still couldnt beat the 30 dollar mark. and it was ultimate. i was really excited and everything!!! so i bought a drink :D

lasts me about 300kms, but i find myself getting petrol 2 times a week

I was in QLD last week. Fuel was $1.13/L. As soon as you cross the border it jumped to $1.33/L :x :x Bloody state tax!!!!!

i got $20.06 the other week, thats my highest... my petrol gauage is a bit screwed and when its full it reads 3 quarters. and so it gets down to empty early :cry: how do i fix this? is there a 5 minute solution? if not then i dont care :roll: not worth it

On the other side of the coin, my workmate has a Merc 450SLC (1978) and a new Pajero 3.5 petrol. It costs him NZ$250 a week in petrol. :wink:

From fumes to full I'm paying around $29 for premium (when you run out as you go down the hill to the garage and roll the rest of the way you know it's on empty :roll: ).

I heard that at Bathurst the V8's were slipping it into neutral on the top of the mountain to conserve fuel. One commentator even went as far as saying they were turning the car OFF as well! Now there is a tip for us all :mrgreen:

An empty tank in my 1275 LS is over $30 now. That's with the bigger tank, though. Unfortunatly, I don't get near 300km off that! :cry:

However... filled the van up yesterday, 100miles, 14 litres. I think I might drive that around more often, hehehe!
