They do what they are suposed to do, but whether you would notice it, who knows. It isn't going to hurt, lets put it that way.

Vizard goes to a lot of trouble regarding them, and yes I know they do work on Webers & Dellortos.
But with SUs, I've been told whilst they improve airflow on the flowbench, they don't seem to add any measurable power on the engine dyno.. very strange.

But anyhow, KC swears by them, & you can buy them off his new site. See http://www.gr8website2.com/calverst/shop.htm

interesting..

depending on price, and what we've seen, theres probably no point getting one.

Got lucky recently, saw a pair of them for twin SU's coming to the end of their auction, they were on 30 dollars with no bids, so I got them. They extended the auction a couple of days cos no-one had bid on them, but I still won. Seem to be nicely made.

Yet to fit and try them though....

Doc do I remember something in Vizard's yellow book about radiusing the front side of the SU's piston to improve air flow?

I am guessing but the air seems to have a pretty torturous route past the piston in a SU so I am guessing that this becomes the limiting factor.

Stub stacks also help provide a better air signal to dellortoes and webers

Some of Vizard's musings, particularly the mods to SU's jet bridge area are suss... they have been shown to be a bad idea.
I would limit mods to thinning the throttle shaft, and maybe put a radius entry on the carb if not running a stubstack or trumpet.
