Interested if anyone has ever bought a car interstate, I want to know what your experience was, was the car represented by the owner accuracy.

I think that you will find this to be the same for any car...

If you can trust the seller, then you will have no problems.

Mo was bought from someone a million miles away via email and I have never looked back. He was EXACTLY how described, never had a problem, couldnt fault the car at all.

Toby though was purchased of someone face to face, and the number of issues that surfaced after purchase..... well lets just say it wasnt the best....

In one word - NO.

I bought mine in sydney from a long time "friend"............ oh how i wish i could take that decision back . Was represented accuratly externally, pity about the "internals"

Having said that i'm sure that there are a million positive buying experiences as opposed to my debacle.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I just found that all the pictures on ebay seem to be bias, Allways the best picture and the best sides of the car are shown, just makes you worry if you will get what you were hoping.

I bought my Deluxe from Melbourne. It was listed on e-bay. My wife said how could buy a car for that much !!! sight unseen. I think it depends on each cars merrits. With all the items listed i.e. respray, new motor, brakes, wheels, windscreen and door rubbers , grille etc etc... and backed up photos I felt I could not go wrong. Car was as described but I still spent a lot of time and extra money getting it to a finish and standard I wanted (not finished yet ) So for all of you purchasing cars or parts you still have to ask the right questions to get the right answers. I found my seller excellent in supplying extra photos and descriptions.
WEIGHT AND DECIDE. I wish all of you as much luck!!! as myself in your purchases.

yeah just ask as many questions as you can, and suss out whether the seller seems like a decent honest person.

If in doubt get an ausmini'er to have a look, if that checks out get an RAC check or similar. Don't trust the vendor!

I bought my Moke from a bloke in Brisbane via Ebay 2 years ago. The car was as he discribed it but just that he forgot to mention a few problems it had that I ended up fixing to my satisfaction.

Got it trucked down from Brisbane to Morwell for $500.00 tho when it hadn't shown up after 8 days, I phoned the trucking company and was told that the car was sent to Horsham by mistake. Another 2 days before it was delivered at 9:30pm.

I ebayed a Honda Civic last year. I put LOTS of pics on the ad, and described it accurately. It sold to a guy in Canberra for $650. He sent TOLL transport up to collect it.

A week later he emailed me to say it was MUCH BETTER than he expected.

:P
