I don't really like the look of the matt black flairs on my mini and was contemplating doing a cheap aesthetic upgrade by colour coding them in gloss. The aim would be to get a sportspack style look but without the cost and effort involved with buying new flairs and fitting them. I'm sure that at least someone else has had this idea before and would be interested to see how it looks. I did this little photoshop of one corner of my mini but i couldn't get the gloss look so in real life it would look slightly different to my photoshop. ![]() ![]() |

I got mine painted when I got the car painted. They came up great but they arn't on the car yet. I put em on on the weekend. (just sat them there) and they pretty good. I'm thinking they will look even better with some stainless hex head screws holding them on. How do you mount your plastic flares? Did you put some sort of rubber strip between the flare and the body. Otherwise they will move and rub paint off causing rust and other horrors? |

I didn't put the flares on... they don't have anything between them and the paint. I don't see how they can move and rub paint off seeing as they're bolted firmly to the body.
I've noticed that a couple of my flairs are cracked, the rear left being the worst, can they be purchased seperately? How much would i expect to pay for a set or individually? |

![]() Molina, Karcraft have the 4 flares available separately if you just need 1. $20.14 ea. Use small S/S screws from a boat place eg www.biasboating.com.au so they don't rust. I put Sikaflex on the flange before screwing them on, bonds to body & makes them much less dependent on the little screws. Don't overtighten them... you can break the flares. Doogie- yes, S flares are nice, but are a lot of work to fit to a stocko shell- even more if you later want to go flareless again. ![]() And they are no longer either cheap or easy to get. |

A Grade Panels have them for $23.70ea. If you are close, then it would be cheaper than getting them sent from Karcraft. http://www.agradepanels.com.au/new_parts.html PS. They probably get them from Karcraft anyways, hehehe! ![]() |

Doogie Doogie, Last time I looked for some (OK, the similar, Clubby S type) I was quoted $120+/set for remanufactured ones (whatever they are). I'll need some soon for Daytona- so who's got 'em?? ![]() |

I will be putting Mk1 S flares on the Deluxe when it comes closer to doing. Doogie, yours look like mk1 flares. I thought mk2 were a fair bit wider at the front than that... could be wrong tho. |
