hey guys im looking at building at building a 1275 with a blower and wondering what suggestions to do interms of gearbox. Im not sure what i have to do to the gearbox to handle the power it will put out. Any suggestions? |

Nothing. Maybe a 4 pin diff. The gearboxes themselves are fairly strong, if in good condition. Its the diff that is the weak point, especially with prolonged thrashing and moreso with forced induction. |

you'll want a heavy duty clutch, yeah diff is a good idea.. |

Borg and Beck Cooper S clutch. Mine was still like new when the gearbox kacked itself. It's back in there, and my spare clutch kit goes back into the cupboard! |

Orange dot is the way to go. Good for something up to 90bhp or so. |

Make sure you rebuild the box before throwing a blown motor on top.. weak points are the diff as said, and also the layshaft & its needle bearings. If you can't affors a cross pin diff, at least fit a competition diff pin and 2 new spider gears... Orange dot clutch is the way to go, but do a trial assembly of flywheel/clutch before fitting, to ensure the diaphragm is near flat when it's clamped together.
