Any ideas would be great, as the sound inside the car is pretty loud, i always though it was loud that i could here the engine pretty much clear, but now i know why.

Get some sponge, old lounge cushion is great, cut 2 fairly large block of it & jam it in each side of the speedo cable cuts down the noise dramatically.

When I fitted the Dellorto on, I got a rectangular piece of colorbond, screwed it over the hole, and then beat the f*** out of it with a BFH to clear the air filter.
Note to self... use alloy next time- it beats better...... :P
I also stuck some soundproofing foil/foam/lead stuff on the back side of it.

Just need to be careful you don't pinch any wires under it.. or you will let the smoke out of them!! 8)

Or you could use some sound proffing from Airconditioners..Just cut your self a square to fit and as JAM has mentioned cut a couple of holes init for the fires to pass throu...
I use this method and Dr has stoled my idea also 8)
