Kind of 'Mini Chat' related, it'll help me work on it better.... I need to build some shelving in my garage. Building site next door has supply of pine "off cuts". Anybody got any drawings or "how to's"? FYI - I need to secure the pine to besser blocks. Any help would be appreicated. JC |

Depends on how much weight you want the shelves to hold. If besser blocks are what I think they are just dyna bolt a pine supporting bracket to them. Otherwise buy an old wardrobe or shelving from a vinnies/auction/garage sale. |

You can pick up some steel right hand brackets from Bunnings for next to nicks, and you can anchor them to the besser blocks using small ramset bolts. They cost about 30 cents each. Just try to drill the holes using a masonary drillbit either in the middle of the block, or a the end of the block where the material is the thickest. The small 5 mm ones are rated to a couple of tons each when fitted nicely, so should be ample and dependable. |

Before bolting anything to the blocks make sure you know they have been concrete filled. They are not a strong construction unless this has been done. |
