what a pain of a day its been. the drivers side uni went in easy, but the passenger one didnt want to go in, not enpugh room to get it into location without having to remove the inside bottom arm. is this regular. i didnt remember it being trickier on one side |

Yep the left one is trickier- because the shaft is shorter, its angle steeper, and there's just less room there. ![]() |

Having not much to do with inner CV problems (thank goodness!), why are the S uni joints so desirable/expensive when they pop up for sale? Is it just the fact they came from Cooper Ss and GTs or is there some other reason to have them? |

The shafts in the diff are thicker, and these joints are in common use with LSD on race cars. So worth $$$. |

![]() ![]() Ummm The Clubman seats are pretty poor. It is the later "LS" Type of seats that are good. |

Pot joint questions (hijack).... If switching motors in a pot joint car, is it best to keep the drive shafts matched with the pots they were run with? Or should it not matter much? Also I seem to remember mixing and matching at some point and not being able to fit a drive shaft into a particular pot. Were there pots of different sizes? What's the failure mode of a pot joint? Has anyone had it happen? |

If switching motors in a pot joint car, is it best to keep the drive shafts matched with the pots they were run with? Or should it not matter much? Not a bad idea but really not critical. Also I seem to remember mixing and matching at some point and not being able to fit a drive shaft into a particular pot. Were there pots of different sizes? I have heard of this too but not experienced it. What's the failure mode of a pot joint? Has anyone had it happen? Usually if the boot rips- grease gets out, rubbish gets in, the balls can jam due to lack of lube. Seen this a few times. |
