Post subject: | Leaking water.. hissing |
Yea, when I turn the engine off after a good run, I hear a hissing coming out near the radiator.. I had to top it up yesterday as it was down a little.. I'm thinking it's just the bypass valve thingo.. Are there any other common places that leaks? Any ideas where to check? I don't think it's the actual radiator itself.. It was recod not too long ago. |

well if its not the radiator the check every hose and every hose connector ,hoses can split or puncture and leaks at ends where they are clamped do happen. also have a look at the water pump itself i have seen one that had corroded so mush the side collapsed. rad cap could be dodgy, thermostst gasket could be leaking. the whole cooling system is your suspect till you examine more.. also a reco radiator isnt a faultproof.. youll just have to be extra observant |

get a length of plastic tubing (like you use to bleed the brakes). Put one end to your ear, and use the other end to pinpoint where the hissing noise is coming from ![]() Works brilliantly |

Thanks for the tip jill200sx. I'll give that a try. Danidad I know the reco radiator isn't 100% faultproof.. I'm just hoping it is though ![]() |
