OK we got this you bute pair of SU's from a bloke in town and we need a heat shield, I'm preety good with working metal so I thought I would give it a shot does anyone have the dimensions of a heat sheild for a set of twin 1.25 su's I know how to make it I just need the dimensions and what guage metal I need to do it.

Any help like pics or measurements of yours that are not on yet would greatly be appriciated

Stay posted on how to make your own heat shields if you have an old set it is easy as pie. Just at school at the moment and will try to get some pictures up after I get home.

Your best bet would be to borrow one off someone and copy it I reckon. SU midel (in sydney) have these new heat shields which come in 3 parts.. The two shields that go either side, then the middle strip (which the springs attach to) bolts on to each sheild. If you could get one of these they'd be good/easy to copy.

Thanks Honk but already made and taken pictures of it I have just run out of web space for the pictures so dad says any way I will try to get them up this arvo if I'm not to tied up with assignments but we have done the two either side and the strip though the middle and they are going to go onto "The Heinz" when time permits so stay tuned.

Ok so here is the long awaited piccy that I have been promising I painted the heat shield in wrinkle coat which is heat resistent and looks preety snazy.
I can't really get the dimensions now but come to think of it if I did get the dimensions I would have had to get them before it was bent, but as they say HINDSIGHT IS TWENTY TWENTY. But here is the pic

Awsome job! Looks professional.. pity you dont remember the dimensions..

The dimensions are easy enough to get it is just I'm tied up with school work at the moment but I will try to get the old boy to draw them up and what ever over the next couple of weeks.
