Since I want to sort out the squeaky front suspension on our 850, I'm planning to replace the knuckles. Are they all the same? And is it as seemingly simple (apart from corrosion issues) as the Haynes manual makes it seem? Letting down the hydro, popping the knuckles out, pop new ones in and pump up the suspension again? If so, I'll start sorting out that hydro pump, although there's a suspension place with the correct pump, which may be easier.

TIA

I found the rears a bit interesting, in my case I had the rear arms off and so I could connect in the knuckle joint and then slide the arm into place, this seemed easier than doing it with the arm bolted up

From what I've gathered over time...

A. Yes.
B. Yes....although "simple" is rather a subjective term when it comes to minis. Getting th cups out never seemed so "simple" as Haynes might suggest.
C. Yes. But just make sure everything is seated correctly before you pump it up again.

Thanks Peddro - that's enough info to get the wheels in motion. Off to source some knuckles.

I didn't think 850's came with hydro, was it changed out at some stage?

I doubt it's been converted. It's a '69 Mk II so almost certainly standard. Made in NZ so not an Aussie spec one.
