Hi
I'm in the process of removing rust from my van. Using POR15 product. But this is causing major headaches
Problem is it doesn't seem to want to bond to anything. Not even the rust.
Have used extensively but now can't feather out with sand paper without the POR just pealing up.
At this stage it is really slowing things down as I'm basically sanding it ALL back off.
Any one had the same experience?
Any tips?
Thanks
Dave

Have you washed of the marine clean or what ever it is before painting with the POR15 that may be the cause of the paint not sticking. Ring them and ask they are helpful people.

Is yours the van with the checkered roof

I think I did all the steps properly.
Just seems to me like the product itself is tougher than the adhesion to the surface.
And yeah thats my van. No longer a checkered roof though.
Roof will be yellow soon. ( Car crystal white )
Daffodil yellow or crystal primrose.
Any comments on those colours welcome.
cheers
Dave

I have never used the stuff but I think maybe you should just try a 2 pac highfill primer over it and then just rub the primer back, just try a small bit first as I think the pors is supposed to be left on and not rubbed
