Just got my cam back from GRE to fit to the new project engine (1360). I'm using the Australian made Rollmaster timing gears with the adjustable keyways ($140 from OG Speed Shop). But I'm unsure what cam followers to go with. ST lightened (with the hole in the bottom) or standard? Are the Isky lifters still about?

Word I got was that if you are chasing every 0.5 HP, then go with the lightened ones with drain hole.

Go the standard Items - cheaper and the 1 or 2 grams of oil doesnt make a real big difference. I have had the holey ones crack radially from the hole - but in a XF falcon though - 6 of one, half a dozen of another Hooroo Rob Forsyth Miniot!!

Go the standard ones- cheaper- as said the hole only weakens them.. so they say. Ask where they are made though. I've heard the Indian made ones sold by a certain Sydney W subs place are NFG at all.. they wear real quick. <edit> use some cam lube (or Castrol LMM grease) on the lobes, and run the cam & lifters in for 10+ mins @ 2000 rpm...

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I see MS have the Isky types available Part No. C-AEG580. Weigh 40 grams (std = 44 gm) and cost 26 pounds. MS claim they're designed to minimise float and jump normally seen in original cam followers which ultimately looses power.

I've use both the standard ones with & without oil hole (from MiniSpares UK) with reground cams, no problems. I'm pretty sure the current std Karcraft ones are OK too. Lots of people here with RE13 cams are running them.. J_A_M, Mini Mad, Gafmo, Mike, etc etc.
