ok so i have plan. a plan so devious that my head would explode if i had any idea what i was talking about... so "okkher" apparently. my mini has a ding in it which shall be hard to repair (no mechanicals, chassis, suspension or brakes damaged). so I have been in discussions with various parties and it has been decided that we are going to get everything out of armageddon and put it in a new shell, which shall be painted in a colour of my choice. then i am going to hand in my old rego and register this new one. (just so its legal, rather that just swapping plates...) so i have an engine, but i want to make it go harder. so i'm thinking twin carbies, extractors (with flexy bit ![]() the colour scheme im thinking is dark dark blue, almost black, with white roof. how badly will this show up the dirt? cheers, dylan **PS** also i have to think of a name for my new superbeast. King Richard the 2nd perhaps? i dont know. I like the name armageddon, but i cant call this new one armageddon. maybe armageddon 2? OR the second coming of jesus??? hehehehe thoughts/opinions? |

Think it through. Do you want to colour change the whole shell or do just an external paint? If it is the whole shell, it has to be stripped so you may as well fix what you have, unless you can gaurantee buying a rust free, straight body and there are very few of those around. That front damage is not a major job in the big scheme of things and one more mini will be off the road if you don't fix it. Mind you the less minis means mine is worth more so maybe it is a good idea to scrap it. ![]() |

Get a set of maniflow LCB extractors and you wont have to worry about the flexy bit like I had put in my system! ![]() |

yeah i would have thought straightening it would be a good idea, the paint is alright (biu lots of chips swirls and little dints) but apparently its easier to re-shell? i dunno maybe i'll get a quote to fix it? |

Aww, cmon just fix your car, ya big girls blouse. It aint that bad! I believe you can still buy new clubby front panels. Or Roverise it. The rover front cuts do fit. ![]() Do you have any idea what its gonna cost to re-shell your car? You won't just put it straight in. You'll want more performance (Go a 1275, dont muck around with a 1100) More BLING!! bigger stereo, bigger wheels, better trim, blah blah blah. EVERYTHING along the way. It'll end up costing you thousands. Rebuild you subframes, steering rack 'while its out', and it'll take a year. No. make it 18 months. And you'll be broke. Please, just fix your red car ![]() |
