just picked up a 66 mini deluxe Wondering what the best petrol (and appropriate additive) would be. Premium hi-octane? unleaded? just wanted to get it right! - thanks |

Depends what has been done to the engine? If it's a stock 998 then yeah probably 95 with flashlube.. But if it's had a lot of work done to it, I'd go 98 octane.. |

Well my deluxe has a 998 stroked to 1098, the head's been fully worked, twin su's, aftermarket inlet manifold , extractors, RE13 cam.. Performance wise there is a big difference between 95 and 98 octane for me. But 98 octane makes it idle really fast.. have to hit the accelerator to slow the idle down. Whereas 95 octane will make the engine idle nicely but it's not as fast. Half way between both would be good I reckon. Might try filling one tank with 95 and the other with 98.. hahah will that work? ![]() |

I used to use standard 91 Unleaded in my leyland.... before i ****ed it. Drove fine. Didnt notice any VSR. It wasnt driving on unleaded long enough to notice any recession anyway ![]() |
